Home care provider, Right at Home GF is inviting people to experience the joy of music with its weekly Singing for the Mind session which is designed specifically for people with dementia and their carers.
The sessions are held every Monday at the Farnham Maltings and offer an opportunity to enjoy an hour of singing and the chance to connect with other people living with dementia.
Liz Young from Right at Home says: “These sessions are more than just a sing-along; they are a lively and light-hearted hour with experienced singing leader Barbara Rayner. As well as sharing memories, participants get to enjoy a love of songs of all styles, from jazz and show-stoppers to gospel and folk.
“Singing for the Mind is a delightful way to spend an afternoon and has the added bonus of being a therapeutic activity that can improve mental well-being and foster a sense of community among participants. Whether you are new to singing or have been enjoying music for years, everyone is welcome to join our sessions.”
Tickets cost £5 plus a £1.50 booking fee with accompanying carers going free. There is no need for advance booking as tickets can be purchased on the day from the Farnham Maltings Box Office.
Singing for the Mind starts at 1.30pm with refreshments. The singing hour is from 2-3pm.
